Seattle
A few weeks ago I caught the morning train out of Lynchburg for points West. Three trains and 3.5 days later I stepped off the train in beautiful Seattle, Washington. I met up with my buddy Daniel Houghton and tagged along with him on his assignments for the Seattle Times for a week. Good times.
Local kids beat the heat at the first annual Arlington Fire Department water shower in Arlington, Wa.

Amtrak's Westbound Empire Builder snakes through the forests of Western Washington State.
Somewhere in North Dakota I think.

Back home in Lynchburg.
